The fine print

Applies to LBSW, LSW, and LCSW; licenses expire end of February in odd-numbered years. New licensees are exempt from the 30 hours for their first biennium except the 2-hour child abuse training. No live/in-person CE requirement. Preapproved providers under 49 Pa. Code 47.36 include ASWB ACE-approved providers, ASWB itself, NASW and affiliates, CSWE-accredited programs, and accredited universities. The 2026 organ-donation CE mandate applies to medical/nursing licensees, not social workers.

Does nationally accredited CE count in Pennsylvania?

Yes — Pennsylvania accepts continuing education from nationally accredited providers, so courses from an accredited provider like the ones on Pulse count toward your renewal.
